Relay for Life Benefit Concert
$3-5 cover/donation + additional donations welcome, 8pm start, all ages
Tons of stuff going on on this night, all in the name of fighting cancer!
One of UC Davis sketch/improv group Birdstrike frontmen, Gregory Gaye, is going to do some awesomely hilarious stand up to start off the night.
Shortly followed by local indie-electronic-pop Davis group Unit Panic http://www.myspace.com/unitpanic
Startropics (featuring several members of too-funny-to-be-true Birdstrike) will perform next http://www.myspace.com/startropicsband
Startropics rides the line between comedy and fun danceable rock and roll, being sure not to take themselves too seriously as they pound away on their guitars and drums.
Local act Sex, Funk, and Danger http://www.myspace.com/sexfunkanddanger will be the last band for the night. While still a straight up party-atmosphere type of band, this time they come with a purpose: to help contribute donations to the Relay For Life Benefit.
DJ Josh Krey of Sex Funk and Danger is going to DJ for the remainder of
the time and keep the dance party mood going.
Please visit http://www.relayforlife.org for more details on this amazingly awesome and ambitious event, aimed at raising money to fight cancer.
Much more than a walk around a track, Relay is a time to celebrate those who have battled cancer, remember those lost and get inspired to fight back. Those who have shared the same experience find common ground, hope and healing at Relay. By participating, you have the power to continue the American Cancer Society's progress toward a future where cancer doesn't take the lives of our friends and family.
