Coconut Coolouts
Thankfully, like an Asgardian lightning bolt, comes Seattle’s own Coconut Coolouts: hyphen free and possessed with the strength of an animal on PCP. A typical performance by this powerhouse team of humans and machines can last as long as seventeen days and include such things as a professional-level fireworks display and the undeniable proof of the existence of love. But, more frequently, one present at a Coolouts happening will bear witness to a level of musical enthusiasm neither seen nor heard (and yes, to a degree, smelt) since Rock and Roll’s golden apex, “Surfin’ Bird” by The Trashmen.

Nice Smile (Seattle)
They are a fantastic band of living legends from Seattle. Rob Vasquez is a masterful guitarist and singer, and Donnie is a jazzy gumsmackin' hoot of a drummer. They play stripped-down but clever garagepunk. Rob was in a ton of awesome bands since the 80's beginning with the Nights and Days, the Night Kings (see their 7" and LPs now or hear them here: http://detailedtwang.blogspot.com/2007/10/night-kings-one-night-kings-two.html ), Man-Tee-Mans, The Gorls, Chintz Devils, etc. Adam from the Hospitals says that Rob Vasquez was his #1 inspiration to play music.
